    ATHENS ROUNDTABLE

    Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law

    November 16-17, 2020


    MER is proud to announce that we are supporting The Athens Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law, along with UNESCO, the European Parliament (STOA), and other distinguished entities active at the intersection of AI, technology, and the law. 

    The event will be hosted under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou. Speakers will include representatives from global regulators, industry, and beyond. U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY-9) has been confirmed as a speaker and Axios Managing Editor Alison Snyder as a moderator for the event.

    Gain insights about global AI policy developments as well as information about AI operation and governance practices of direct interest to general counsel’s offices, compliance and privacy officers, CIOs, and practicing lawyers who either advise clients on AI-related issues or use AI in the context of their practices.

    Some examples of breakout panels include: 

    • Artificial Intelligence in civil and criminal discovery: lessons from science, legal norms, and real-world practice
    • AI in corporate legal operations
    • AI in corporate and regulatory compliance

    The Athens Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law has partnered with CLE Companion to pre-approve many of the sessions for MCLE Credit, including Ethics, Elimination of Bias, Technology and General Substantive Credits, including for topics touching on information governance, electronic discovery, privacy, corporate legal operations, and AI standards.
