This keynote address represents another MER pioneering first: the first public introduction the the new electronic records management features in Microsoft Office 2007 and the associated Exchange software - to be released in 2007.
The CASE STUDY portion of this session will include experiences from the company's internal pilot of Office 2007 to 500 internal users:
- Feedback received from participants
- Lessons learned about implementation strategies
- How to successfully adapt paper-based policies and processes in the electronic world
There will be a live demonstration of the Office 2007 System featuring these issues:
- Storage and management of records in the SharePoint Records Repository
- Defining retention and disposition policies on electronic content
- Filing records, including e-mail, from clients like Outlook and SharePoint sites
- Support for extensive metadata to track and file records
- Auditing the usage of items in the repository
- Setting up litigation document preservation "Holds"
- New search capabilities
