SharePoint has become a strategic platform for team sites, portals, and enterprise-wide content and records management (ECM/RM).  This interactive session will address key capabilities of SharePoint, including SharePoint 2010, and explore critical electronic records management (ERM), IT, and Legal implications and issues.  Topics include organizational readiness, enterprise frameworks, lifecycles, policies/rules, content governance and retention, migration, and sustainability – with best practices derived from real-world SharePoint projects. The session will also include demonstrations of SharePoint 2010 for collaboration and ECM/RM utilizing a case study organization called ‘Latham Ltd.’

This seminar will define the essential elements you will need to understand the implications of SharePoint and help you stay ‘ahead of the curve’ to ensure the most benefit for your organization. As we explore each element, we will engage participants in active conversations about their own experience, concerns, and successes. At the end of the day, you will have structured ‘takeaways’ as well as an opportunity for further networking with your colleagues during the MER conference.
